چکیده

The serious problems of sandy soils for crop development are low water-holding capacity, nutrient retention, and content all nutrients. objective the study was to increase soil evaluate types that mostly affect high shallot yield with reasonable economic values. field experiment conducted on upland loam soil. Six treatments consisting complete nutrients, N-, P-, K-, Mg- S-omission tests were arranged in a randomly completed block design four replicates. observed parameters included physicochemical properties, tissue content, growth, yield, input-output cultivation. results showed N, P, K, Mg S application successfully increased bulb, achieving 11.43 t ha−1 order K > N P~Mg S, where limiting factors, as revealed by significantly lower relative (varying from 79 88%). highest weight loss during storage occurred treatment (40 60%), indicating insufficient is most responsible quality shallot. gave income (7446.09 USD ha−1) revenue cost ratio 2.41 compared other treatments. tolerance limit price reductions do not cause losses 58.59%.

Persistence and management of dinitroaniline herbicides residues in sandy loam soil

The addition of organic manure affects the biological, chemical and physical properties of soil that control the fate of herbicides. Three dinitroaniline herbicides were studied to asses their persistence, dissipation and residue management in sandy loam soil with and without addition of farmyard manure (FYM) under middle western Indian agro-climatic conditions. The herbicides, pendimethalin [N...

Assessment of chromium fixation capacity of sandy loam soil

The adsorption of chromium species in soils has received much attention because of its toxicity and bioavailabilities, which are adsorption depended. There are very little studies on adsorption of chromium in sandy loam soil. Hence, this paper presents the Cr adsorption capacity of sandy loam soil under chromium spiked condition. A batch technique was used to perform cr adsorption studies. Soil...

Quantifying hysteresis of atrazine desorption from a sandy loam soil.

Batch experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of initial atrazine concentrations and consecutive desorption steps on the desorption characteristics of atrazine from a sandy loam soil. As initial atrazine concentration increased, the average percentage of atrazine desorption on the sandy loam soil ranged gradually from 23.1% to 38.5% after five consecutive desorption steps. The v...

Impact of Distillery Effluent and Salts on Hydraulic Conductivity of a Sandy Loam Soil

Irrigation with distillery effluent, besides influencing crop yield, may have considerable impact on physical properties of soil because of its high salt and organic carbon contents. This experimental study was conducted to evaluate the effect of distillery effluent on hydraulic conductivity of a sandy loam alluvial soil and compare the effect of inorganic salts of potassium (K) with that of di...

Residual Soil Nitrogen and Nitrogen Response of Corn on Sandy Loam Soil

Groundwater contamination is an ever-increasing concern on a national level as well as locally. Increasing amounts of nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N) being delivered by rivers, including the Mississippi, have resulted in an oxygen-depleted area or hypoxic zone in the Gulf of Mexico. (Turner and Rabalais, 1994b). This nutrient loading has caused nitrogen-limited phytoplankton to bloom. Decom-position o...
